Cliques are something i dont understand and wish were never created. How many times have you said "nah i cant ask her out, were two different people" meaning the people you hang out with are too different. It happens all the time. Everyone is divided into groups or at least Roslyn is thats for sure. Theres the emo kids, the punk kids, the Spotlight crew, the skater crew, the smoking crew and the japs which make up a large part. Now, jap has taken a different meaning nowadays. Back in the day it used to label only jewish people. Today its used for any color, race, religion, as long as you are snobby or an asshole youre considered a jap. The things that go along with these stupid cliques are ridiculous also. I have a friend from Manhasset who says him and his friends dont like all the "preppy" kids. What the fuck does that mean? So if he was mad cool but preppy you wouldnt hang out with him because of your cliques? In a way the Roslyn dress code has sorta rubbed off on us all. Everyone including the ghetto kids, skateboarders and punks are all preppy. It shouldnt matter anyway. I consider myself not belonging to any one clique, i try to be friendly with anyone willing to be friendly with me, its that simple. Thats how it should be with everyone i think. Alot of people who could be great friends never are because of the groups they hang out with. And then theres the stereotypes that come along with every group. Skateboarders all wear baggy clothes, listen to metallica, have dyed hair with chains and so on. There are stereotypes for every clique and its just wrong. How can you see the way someone dresses and automatically make an assumption about them with out even meeting them? Basically this is something that bothers me and should be stopped because i feel i cant even talk to certain people because were in different groups and its annoying. Ok mad tired late night peace.
