Computers + Technology
How can something so great with a million advantages be so bad with as many disadvantages. The computer, although an excellent tool for hw and exploring the world is so evil in its own little way. I think my parents get pissed at me alot because im always sitting at the damn computer. Honestly, i really dont see the problem with it. I mean, i learn alot more sitting at the computer than playing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater for 3 hours. But just think of all the harm it does as well. There are so many stupid kids out there dumb enough to meet complete strangers they meet online. You hear about it alot about how 15 year old boys get kidnapped by 40 year old men who, supposedly online, were 17 year girls looking for some action. So many deaths and kidnappings have occured through internet abduction that its ridiculous. Another thing is im becoming increasingly lazy as the weeks go on. Everything at the computer is right at my damn fingertips. I dont have to get up for anything. Its starting to make me even more lazy than i already was, which is pretty bad. We'll look at automatic doors at the supermarket for instance. How many times have i said "shit, its not automatic!!" Its just funny though that certain technology has forced us to say such stupid things like this. But its opened me up to a whole new world of everything and anything i want. Napster and AIM are something that ive been introduced to, and i dont know if i can live without them now. Free music and talking to friends, is just great. Although all this technology can make people lazy and all that, its also helping with more advanced medications. With more technology and such, cures for cancer and AIDS can be found. Those are huge things that technology can help out with. So, i guess technology has its good and bad sides, but i think its a wonderful tool for kids and parents to have at home because it opens up a whole new world for people to see.
